This is exactly the attitude that keeps us from being able
to fully implement the National Policy against smoking. It
is a selfish attitude which allows you to justify your
continued smoking. Drunk driving has nothing to do with the
issue of smoking at scout facilities when youth are present.
National policy also prohibits the use of alcoholic
beverages and controlled substances at encampments or
activities on property owned and/or operated by the Boy
Scouts of America, or at any activity involving
participation by youth members. What if those alcohol users
were saying that they would quit drinking when you stop
polluting the air with your tobacco smoke.
You have to take responsibility for your own actions.
