people have, then we live in a pretty good world!
The Patrol/Den animal identity really isn't the point at all - I'm a Beaver,
but that was just the luck of the draw. The point is that during the
course, you grow together as a Patrol or Den, and you and your little group
develop a personality, as well as lasting friendships. THAT'S what's
important, and it would happen just as well without the animal names!
BTW, I've never heard any kind of "put-downs" that were anything other than
good-natured jokes, and I've never seen anyone offended by them.
