Get repellent with as much DEET as you can. 100% is good. Get it in
a pump spray, if possible, so as to enable you to spray your shirt
(mosquitos can bite through a shirt). Pressure spray cans tend to
be too bulky and tend to waste a lot of repellent through
Get repellent WITHOUT any perfume/scent. Use unscented soap for your
clothes and your person. Tell your leaders to forgo any perfume,
cologne, or aftershave.
An alternative, if you know someone who sells Avon products, is
Skin-So-Soft. One of our leaders in my Pack is an Avon rep. I
tried the stuff out (very skeptically, I might add) and was
suprised to find that it really works. You can get it combined
with SPF 15 sunblock; a very effective combination this time of
