New Orleans Area Council had a weeklong course postponed from March
of this year until August or September. It will now be a 3 weekend

I believe that the weeklong course is going to harder and harder to fill.
Gulf Coast Council had one about 3 weeks ago. I believe that they had 5
or 6 patrols, but I don't think that they were full 8's.
>2. Is there a trend (increasing or decreasing)?
I feel that they should try and continue to hold the weeklong course. Having
never attending a weekend course, but having 2 weeklong experiences I am rather

A lot of councils (larger than Mobile, I'm sure) rotate year by year between
one type and the other. I believe that once the people get used to the idea,
they will pick the course that appeals to them. I know the retention rate for
a weeklong, (once you get them there) has to better than the weekend. I have
heard of too people that due to something coming upm couldn't return for
weekend 2 or 3.
Maybe trying to put the weeklong courses on as a joint effort between 8 or
10 councils. This way you have a much greater pool to draw from.
