Re: the liability question, please take full advantage of your local Boy
Scout Council and call them. We are in the business of supporting units in
an effort to help them succeed.
Re: the emotional issue, please try to put yourself in the position of the
Scout and make every effort to help. Somehow, we as adults don't always get
beyond the immeadiate situation. Having just come back from our Troop
meeting where I'm an ASM and the current acting SM, I understand. Parental
involvement is very important, as they want their boy to succeed as well. By
keeping the best interest of the boy, and his fellow Scouts at the forefront,
you will figure it out.
