In response to John Burke,
In the Greater Lowell Council Cub Scout Roundtable they give out
"Roundtable Bucks." These are large one dollar bills
that are printed on yellow paper, with Cub Scout graphics.
Each leader attending receives one buck and an extra one,
if they put on show-and-tell, a lecture, lead a song, put on
a show, talk about the Cub Scout/Leader Book of the Month, etc.
Then at the end of the year we have an Auction of donated items
from all the Packs. Items such as scout books, old program helps,
scout tapes, craft materials, old used Pinewood Derby Tracks, etc.
The money used in the auction is "Roundtable Bucks." The result is
Packs with more leaders attending have more buck to buy things with
at the auction. Yes, it is working to motivate leaders to participate.
Leaders are always trying to earn those extra Roundtable Bucks.
