There used to be some words to this effect about shoulder loops in the
insignia guide. They have been deleted, and you are supposed to wear the
uniform for the position that you are serving in at the moment. For example,
I do not want to see a Unit Commissioner visit an assigned unit in any
uniform but a Commissioner's uniform.
This means that if you have multiple positions, you either have mutiple
shirts or put the patches on with velcro. I have seen a lot of both, but
prefer to have separate shirts myself.
