<Tim McCormick asked: can (we) make any patch we want so
<long as we don't wear it on our official uniforms and if you do
<have one made, where can you wear it "legally" on your uniform?
One of the most successful "unit" patches I've seen was one
designed from the "make your own" section of the Official BSA
Catalog. It was awarded to scouts upon their 50th night camping
with Troop 32 in La Crosse, WI. The patch took about 2.5 years to
earn and was highly sought after by troop members who wore it
on their right pocket as a "temporary patch".
Methinks based on the idea that National sells 'em, that just about
any Scouting related patch in good taste could be similarly worn
as temporary insignia.
