>From my own expierence with tents, the Eureka Timberline is a verygood
tent to have. It can be used as a base camp tent, and I have used it as
a backpacking tent (the Timberline 2) I have seen this tent used by a
vast majority of Boy Scout troops, and tey all seem happy with the tent.
i have spent countless numbers of nights in the timberline, and the only
problems I have had are the following:
1) wet floor --forgot to tuck under the ground cloth.
2) bent poles -- spent the night on a bald mountain during a
thunderstorm, with the wind hitting us broadside.
3) zipper off track--come with age
These are the common problems, and are easliy fixed, at low cost. I have
since graduated to the Eureka Gossamer, and TNF Starlight extreme. The
TNF tent is listed as a two-man, but I use both as a one-man.
Hope this helps,
