Camp ground costs are really not much of a reason not to go camping. In
national forests, one merely needs to drive to a trail head and hike as
little as a few hundred yards into the woods to find a spot to camp... at least
this is true in north Georgia... Perhaps this is not possible in your area, but
I'll bet that just by asking at the churches your girls attend, you may discover
land owners who will be happy to allow your Girl Scout Troop to camp....
no cost, other than normal food and equipment....
