One of the Scouting hats that I wear is as a member of the Council
Camping Committee for the Stonewall Jackson Area Council. At a recent meeting
of that committee the Chairman asked if I would chair a small ad hoc
subcommittee tasked to formalize the policies for the use of our council
camp, Camp Shenandoah. The purpose of this document would be to provide in a
single source the national, as well as local, policies regarding the use of
the camp during the Summer Camp Program, family camping, use of the camp by
scout units, use of the camp by nonscout groups, etc...
My questions to you are:
Do your councils have such documents and, if so, how would I get a copy?
Is there a document(s) from National that should we should review as we
prepare our policy statement?
Any other advice?
