Mark Arend asked, " Why is the middle palm gold and the highest one silver
instead of the other way around?
The idea is the same reason why in the military a company grade officer's
first rank is bronze (e.g. second lieutenant is bronze and a first
lieutenant through Captain is silver). When an officer makes field grade
their first rank is bronze (e.g. Major - Bronze; Lt Colonel and Colonel -
Silver) The silver color signifies more experience as in "seeing the
light" hence silver. The lieutenant/Major is still in the dark (i.e. less
experience) as to their new duties, hence bronze.
Hope this helps!
