I have no idea if there are studies of this. I [as a Prosecutor] have
anecdotal evidence only in that invariably the kids I see smoking marijuana
started with tobacco; but they also started with childbirth, so it's hard
to announce cause and effect from sequence of events alone. I would only
hypothesize that general disrespect for adult restrictions on youthful
tobacco smoking has led to discounting of adult warnings about other
