Girl Scouts & Boy Scouts

I've been reading about the experiences, both good and bad, some of this
list's adult females had as Girl Scouts. I was a Brownie for two years
back in the mid 60s, but the program went no further than that in our
town and my only memory was the Dad-Daughter banquets.
Last fall, my Webelos participated in the US Olympic team target
shooting "event" that was advertised in Boys Life (it was in the Oct 95
issue). For completing the requirements, each boy received a US Olympic
Shooting/Marksman pin, a letter and some gun safety brochures.
One of my Webelos mothers is an active Girl Scout leader. She & her
husband are both retired from the Navy and are very resourceful. She
said the Girl Scouts don't offer a Gun/Shooting/Marksman merit badge, so
she & her husband want to propose a merit badge. Does anyone have any
ideas of what should go into this? They are open to any ideas. Thanks!
