Here's the additional information that you might find useful:
The name of your Dad's old Council was the Tall Corn Council, headquarted in
Des Moines, Iowa, from 1930-1969. During the time that your Dad was involved
in Scouting, the Council number was #177 (that's only important if he decides
later to get copies of his old Scouting records).
The Tall Corn Council extended all the way over to Perry and Carroll. Yes,
they do have old patches and probably pennants too. You might want to post
a "want ad" in the local paper asking folks that have older patches from
that time period to contact you about borrowing or taking pictures of them
for your cross-stitch.
I'll be posting the strips on the web site shortly. It's not really pretty,
but it does give you an idea of what they looked like.
