Female Traveling Alone - Advice?

My 18-yr-old daughter has accepted a position at Philmont with a report date
of June 3. She will fly to Albuquerque on June 2nd. The only bus to
Cimarron leaves Albuquerque at 6:30 am, so she will have to spend night. At
this time, she does not know anyone else on staff who she could travel with
or share motel with.
I am seeking advice from anyone who may have a possible solution, that is,
an alternative to her spending the night in a motel alone. She says "no
problem!" Dad feels otherwise.
The past 2 years she went to Philmont for Rayado and Trail Crew. Both times
Philmont sent out a participant list and she was able to arrange to meet
others at the airport, and share a motel room and cabs. Possibly I could
contact Philmont for assistance, but thought I would try list first.
There are 2 bus routes to Raton (8:00 pm and 12:45 am). The latter would
require a wait in the airport, a late night cab ride to downtown bus
station, and then a 4-5 hour wait at the Raton MacDonald's prior to pickup
by the Philmont shuttle at 9:30 am. So the bus to Raton is not an option
she will consider.
Thanks for any suggestions.
