I kind of missed parts of this thread. Isn't the problem here the fact
of two Eagles being presented? At Barry's COH, as at ALL Eagle CsOH that
I have been to, the Eagles who are present either stand or go on stage
during the Eagle Charge. Granted, Barry's was the best (hehe, I am not
prejudiced, just PROUD!!!) but I must admit, it was neat how it was
presented. I think the presenter called it an AERIE.
But there was no way that Barry wanted to SHARE the entire ceremony with
another scout who was being presented his award. And another scout in
our troop had his COH two weeks earlier.
In our district, one troop had FIVE boys go together one night. I
refused to go. BTW, folks, I was Eagle Chairman of the district at the
time. I thought it was terrible and those that did go, said it was the
shortest court ever seen, and this was for five boys. The scoutmaster
wanted out and one of the boys was his son. Oh, Well!
But to share the honor with other Eagles on stage at the right moment was
in a word..... NEAT! and appropriate.
