>Just a side note on all this ADD information. I hear many people saying
>their kids should've been diagnosed at a younger age. One thing you need
>to know as a parent is that if you see signs of problems in your child it
>is up to you to ask for help. The school cannot single out your child for
>special education of any kind, this includes something as simple as a
>minor speech impediment.
Here where I live, often the school wont do anything (especially with ADD)
until the medical profession diganosis it...However, most teachers are
willing to listen to parents if they have concerns about their children.
As a student Nurse...my advise is get several oppions and dont just take
what one doctor says as the end of the matter. It took one of our cubs
mother three years to finnaly get her diganoised with ADD...But she went and
got several different oppions. While I am not putting down Doctors.....like
people, Doctors have their strengths and weeknesses as well. Just dont be
scared to ask for a second oppion if you are that concerened about something.
