Rick Weekley asked about the cost of the Jamboree from the Sam Houston Council.
The fee for the Jamboree itself is $445, which covers food, activities,
supplies, and all the rest for the 8 day event.
Ric mentioned about $400 in airfare.
The rest is probably distributed among costs for a several day tour before
the Jamboree, possibly some subsidies to the adult leaders (every Council
differs in this), costs for training and other pre-Jamboree activities,
administrative costs for the local Jamboree effort, etc.
Some Councils send multiple troops as part of their contingent, and of
those troops some have extended tours and some have no tours. This helps
provide some cost differences for those wishing to enjoy the very special
memories of the Jamboree.
