The best thing is to provide a program for THE BOYS that speaks for itself.
Your DE is aware of the problem and supports you. It is his job as a
professional Scout to be objective and see both sides. Your commissioner
should back the committee (parents) and be the right arm of the DE. Sounds
like the DE needs to talk with your commissioner.
It is my experience that providing the best program for THE BOYS is the way
to go. Just keep quiet and your program will straighten up the problem. By
having the CC talk about the old CC could cause a division of the parents
that are on your side. As the word gets out that THE BOYS in your troop are
having a great time, other will want to join and the old CC will be
forgotten. By saying that the old CC went on to help out another troop is a
great way to handle it. It keeps the troop out of the fight and allows THE
BOYS to put closure to the event.
Hang in there!
