The camp in Fontenelle forest in the north part of Bellevue is a gorgeous
place. Stay there if it is possible. I'm not real sure but I think the name
was either Watonka or Wakonda. It's been 8 years since we lived in Wagon
Wheel district and used the place regularly. I attended my first Cub Leader
training, Cub Scout Roundtable, and Cub Day Camp there. It is in the area
that was the first settlement in Nebraska, Lucien Fontenelle's Trading Post.
I was curator for a small history museum just outside the entrance to the SAC
Museum. Therefore, please don't try to find a way into the SAC museum from
the base. They may be on base property, but the entrance is in Bellevue.
Just follow the signs.
