Hello one and all and greetings from the great warm South--at least for the day!
My Troop is hosting the Fall Camporee for our District. We have decided
to do our best to make this an incredibly memorable time for the boys while
making it strictly in conformity to the ideas and goals of Scouting. We have
not settled on a slogan for the Camporee, but we are striving for a theme
that deals with being prepared and working as patrols. We want to foster
patrol spirit and unity through providing activities that reward them for
working together as a team or patrol and we want to reward them for being
prepared by knowing the basic skills they are supposed to be learning and
Does anyone have any ideas on activites that fit within these
objectives? We are wanting to have numerous activites which the boys will
rotate through so we think we may need to keep the activities restricted to
only 2-4 patrols a at time and each activity only lasting 15-30 minutes.
Nothing is yet completely determined, so comments on the proposed framework
as well as recommended activities would be greatly appreciated.
Please reply directly at the e-mail below, or if you feel it would be
appropriate to the entire list. I'm new, so I don't know what's most
appropriate (and yes I did read the intro mails). Thanks in advance!
