Again, Tom Lehrer was commenting on some of the changes regarding Vatican
II. Some of which were to make the Catholic mass more accessable to the
general public of whatever nation was involved. Specific changes included
allowing the mass to be said in the native tongue of the nation (it was Latin
before), and to allow the mysteries of the mass to be performed in the open.
Before much of the mass was said with the priest facing away from the
congregation. And yes, a greater variety of music was allowed into the
church. This is still occuring. I was not Catholic bashing. I am Catholic,
and proud of it, that would be counter productive. I find it an amusing
play on words and not offensive, we still have processionals, we still have
confessionals, and we still have original sin. If you choose to be offended
I profusely apologize but it was not my intent. Again see the disclaimer on
