There's nothing I've found, Hugh, that addresses wearing the
Eagle (or other BSA medal) on a dress suit. The only things I've been able
to find was the wearing of the lapel pins on the suit.
I too have witnessed Eagles wearing their medals on their dress
suit (doesn't look bad at all...awkward looking, but not bad).
I've also seen something else....In the Old Kentucky Home Council
there used to be a "thing" whereby previous Eagle holders would
wear their Eagle suspended from a red-white-blue NECK ribbon,
with the Palms worn on the left side. It really looks nice,
and resolved the "problem" of wearing the Eagle Badge physically
on the field uniform. I don't know who started this, or if this
was something unique to my "home Council", but like I said, it
did resolve the issue of wearing the Eagle Badge on the field
uniform and also served to allow those holders of the Eagle Scout
Badge to wear it with either field uniform or civilian dress.
Hope that helped!
