Reminds me of an event about 8 years ago. We had only two boys from
the den show up. One of the events was a nature relay race where the
boys run to a spot and make a nature identification and then run back
to tag the next boy in the den. Most of the dens had 8 participants.
Ours had only the two. With great enthusiasm, those two managed to win
their opening round. As luck would have it, their round was the last
preliminary round and was followed immediately by the final. So, they
went into the final a bit tired but pulled enough reserve energy to win
the event. Needless to say, they slept well that night. (They also
had a great story to share with their friends.)
