I believe you answered your own question there. I have had similar
instances. Sad but true we can't help'em all. I had a boy with ADD and felt
proud when he turned out to be my top activity pin achiever. We started out
shaky and I wrote comments as to what "Do your best" means. We came to an
understanding and his parents told me later his school grades were improving.
I had another occasion (no ADD but "problem parents"). I had to let the boy
go. No use sacrificing 9 boys to have little or no effect on 1.
