I am having some problems with George Smith reply concerning service stars.
"In all cases tenure only starts upon the registration date and should be
awarded on the anniversary of registration. If a boy is in Webelo's for 1
1/2 years the extra 1/2 year is attributed to scouts not to the Webelo
program thus he would wear a 1 on Gold and then at the end of his second
year a 1 on green."
Under this reading very few would actually wear a one year tiger pin. Most
join at school night in September and graduate in June. This is only 9
months. He is actually permitted to wear the orange pin in September.
George also states:
"Tiger Cub adults should not wear the orange background and service star
since they are not technically registered. In actuality they are partners
with their child in the program but only a registration form for the child
I agree that adults should not wear the orange background. But are they
registered. YES. They are registered as adults as the Tiger Partner.
Look at your charter. Hence I would have to say they are eligible to wear
the adult pin. (This is my conclusion and could be swayed the other way if
a written statement says otherwise.)
