George and friends. I attended one of the last courses at Schiff Scout
Reservation, Mendham, NJ. (Recently reclaimed in part for use by the
Morris-Sussex Council. Schiff was sold about the time of the move from New
Brunswick to Irving).
My course (and certificate) were designated 417. No prefix. Each of us
received an individual number such as 417-11. (1 through 64 for all
Just a bit more trivia.
My understanding is that there were only two more courses at Schiff in 1973.
There were several more at Philmont. National courses were held in both
locations (and perhaps a few others from time to time). The numbering
sequence seems to have followed dates and did not identify either location.
