Here's the latest news from Chicago:
According to a copyrighted story in the Chicago Tribune, from which I
The Chicago Commission on Human Relations on Wednesday fined the Chicago
Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America $600 for telling a homosexual
male in 1992 that he shouldn't apply for a job at the council, as the B.S.A.
does not hire homosexuals. This was found to be a violation of the city's
human rights ordinance. The council was also ordered to not discriminate
against gays and lesbians for employment. The B.S.A. will appeal the ruling.
The man involved is an Eagle Scout and was a member of the Order of the Arrow.
Should be interesting to see how the appeals work out.
