There are too potential military installations where you could stay,
although the closer of the two is about half an hour from Gettysburg.
They are Fort Indiantown Gap (further away) and the Army War College,
Carlisle Barracks, Carlisle, PA. This is about 20 miles from Gettysburg.
It is a small installation with a small HQ company. However they put us up
in the gym when we went down 3 or 4 years ago. Meals were available on
base, as was the movie theatre and the outdoor pool ($1/person), depending
on the weather and time of year. There are also a number of fast food
restaurants nearby should you not be able to get back to the base in time
