Here in Ireland the Scout Association of Ireland is in the process of
introducing a new uniform. We currently wear a dark green shirt. The
proposal is to wear a sweatshirt, with the colour maybe navy. The
reason for this change is a perceived old-fashioned image projected by
the current shirt. Also a uniform that is more practical for the Irish
climate is desired. From talking to my own Scouts it seems that they like
the idea but many leaders are concerned at the change of colour
How is uniform perceived in America and elsewhere. In Ireland all
children (nearly) wear a school uniform and therefore may have a
different attitude to American kids who rarely wear uniform to school (is
that right?). Anyway let me know if you have any opinions are experiences.
