Housing in D.C.

I would suggest staying in the suburs of eith Va., or Md. and taking the
metro in. The rates would be much cheaper. There are plenty of places in
Arlington, Va., which is directly across the river from the main attractions,
or old town Alexandria, kill 2 birds with one stone and direct Metro access.
The hotels in D.C. are not cheap. The cheap one's are in undesirable areas.
Your AAA book may help with Arlington, there's a military base, Ft. Myer's
there, home of the Nat. Guard. Maybe they put up scouts.
I don't know about campgrounds there really aren't any close in.
