Here's one more. I make this often and it's always a hit.
1 lb mild Italian Sausage, skineed and crumbled
1 lb ground chuck
1 large yellow onion, diced
2 large garlic cloves, minced
1.5 tbsp chili powder (or to taste)
1 6oz can tomato paste
1.5 cups water
1 tbsp instant coffee
1 tbsp instant hot chocolate
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp oregano
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp cumin
1 cup dark, red kidney beans, drained
1 cup refried beans.
NOTE: I have used the whole can of kidney beans and refried beans...makes
the chili a little thicker. Also, this recipe is easily increasible!
DIRECTIONS: Brown sausage, ground meat, onion and garlic in skillet or pot.
Add remaining ingredients EXCEPT BEANs, bring to boil, cover, and simmer for
While the meat is cooking, combine the Kidney Beans and Refried Beans and set
aside. When the meat is done, add the beans and stir. Top with Monterey
Jack Cheese or Chedder and finely chopped green onions. Serve with rice (or
noodles or by itself!) and french or italian bread.
