According to my wife, who is a GSA Leader, in our National Capital area
approximately 80 cents of the cost of a box of cookies goes to the baker.
The rest goes to Council and the selling Troop. So if you deduct the 80
cents from the cost in our area (the cookies are priced differently in other
areas) the remaining $1.70 is a charitable donation. I would imagine the
same formula is pretty reasonable to use anywhere.
