Well, lets not draw too many conclusions.
My pack's and council's webpage costs a whopping $60 a year and it
does have some Java...
But if you have to have your own shiny workstation and your own
blazing T1 link it will cost a little bit more then what it costs me, counting
each byte before I put it out. Actually, my salary for counting bytes costs
certainly more then whatever I'm saving by reducing the number of bits.
Not only do you need somebody maintaining the pages, you need somebody
to think what goes on the page and you need a lawyer to check whats on
the page. You also need somebody to think what does NOT go on the page.
Maybe you need somebody who replies to e-mail
I can easy imagine scenarios which would even justify more then $40k. But
I could as well imagine that all the hardware and software would be totally
free because of donations. Lets see...
