I am a Girl Scout leader, and have experienced similar problems. Some
parents we NEVER see, and they have the most complaints with the program.
After discussing this problem with our big council advisor, she said, you
know those kids are the ones that REALLY need scouting. I thought about that
and realised she was right. Thoose parents will probably never be involved
and to think otherwise just is making you upset. NO parents volunteer to
camp with us. We take the troop alone. We only have 8 children. We do not
camp as much as you, tho.
I come to the realisation that some and maybe many parents are willing to
just drop off their kids and never become involved. I pity those parents
because they are really missing ALOT. The one child who is a "behavior"
problem , is the one whose parents we neveer see.
