Sorry, forgot to include that Exploring is indeed part of the course (as it
was in Key Scouter) and your Exploring Division Committee should also be
trained with this basic training, and be provided with their training
tracking card. You too probably will find many, many volunteers who have
met all BUT the training requirement.
In 1992, at Philmont's Key 3 conference, I heard, yet again, PLEASE get your
district committees trained. The program has been around a long time,
ignored mostly it seems according to what we were told.
As a past District Chairman (1993-1995), I did indeed make sure the
committee recieved their Fast Start (the video - now a part of the basic
training course); and the Key Scouter basic training; and awarded the
Scouters' Key with the Dist. Committee device. I have worn mine now for
just a few years.
