The requirements for the District Committee Member-at-Large Scouters' Key
has been in the Leadership Training manual for the past 5 years.
Currently, you will find the training tracking card; the requirements for
the award; in the National publication released last year (1995 - around
January) titled: District Committee Training, part no. 34160.
The information has been available, but most obviously hidden, for some
time. Our council held it's first new District Committee Training
(replacing the Key Scouter training required for the District Committee
Scouters' Key previously, available since 1986, I completed that training in
1987), this past Saturday.
As a result, my district presented 25 Scouter's Keys to 25 members-at-large,
who indeed had everything else completed except for this training. I do not
believe there has been another course held yet in our area, but that IS a
question I will ask at the March Lord Baden-Powell University for
Commissioners/District Committees for over 20 local councils.
It is basically the same course as the Key Scouter, but revised to a better
workable format. It worked well.
Hope this helps.
p.s. the job description card for C.O.R. is found in the C.O.R. training
manual appendix. This also make it easy to relate to them, their job
