Anything done in excess will eventually kill you. In regards to drugs
alcohol is one and not seperate as listed above. It is proven that
alcohol is addictive and destructive. Marijuana has no such scientific
proof and probably would not be illegal had it not been for the paper and
textile industry that lobbied to have it's status changed. To show you
how off the mark our society is; look at the flap over the hemp tennis
shoe. At the same time a small amount of marijuana could send you to
jail while a habitual drunk driver remains free and driving.
That said, I will point out that marijuana and other illicit drugs are
illegal and I do not condone their use. None of the above have a place
in Scouting and should not be tolerated. We owe it to our youth to know
the facts about drugs and what they do. They do, dare teaches them
everything, don't belive me, ask to see your child's information. If a
youth ever got involved with drugs this would be an excellent guide to
where to find the next high.
