I think you rbest bet is to get hold of a copy of John Sweet's book on
pioneering called SCOUT PIONEERING (I THINK that's the right title...)
It shouldd be available from Scouts Canada - and you can phone any large
Canadian city and ask directory assistance for the number for Scouts
Canada. They will be delighted to take your plastic over the phone.
Sweet's book has several different types of catapaults and ballistas, as
well as a very simple device known as the Bolton Bolt Hurler, for which
all you need is a Scout stave and a short length of rope.
Try this Scouting Link in your WWW browser:
Includes "The Serious Side of Scouting" pages where we take
on subjects such as ADD and survival training courses
for Scouts and Leaders, along with much, much more!
All pages optimised for use with the Netscape Navigator.
