I have a troop that was originally chartered in 1925 but lapsed between
1946-1951. In 1951 we were restarted by the same sponsor and had many
of the same leaders as before on the new charter. I was told we could not
wear the 50 year strips. Tenure must be consecutive years.
We celebrate the anniversary of the original charter and have it
displayed in our Troop Room. However I always point out that our
"official" tenure is only 45 years, not the 71 years since Scouting
first came to First Lutheran that we like to celebrate.
