Scouting has hit the big time!
"The Scouters Journal" is now sending packets of those Business Reply
cards. Most of us probably receive one or two a week at work. There were
a number of interesting sources and suppliers in the package. From Cast
Iron cookware to Trailers.
One of the cards however, touches on a thread from the group we have been
discussing for the last week, which is infusing fun into Scouting or how
to teach kids without letting them know they are learning too much.
The card is from Disney World and tells a bit about their "Boy Scout
Spirit Days" I suspect a few of you might be heading this way this
spring and summer and if the weather continues a few of you will be
In any case the contents of the card is as follows for those interested.

Scout on TV:
For those of you who watch "Grace Under Fire" Brett Butler's show.
If you watch carefully the next time they have a scene in her
Boss/boyfriends office there are two scout awards on the wall behind him
to the left. One appears to be an Eagle award or newspaper clipping
about an Eagle and the other appears to be his 1st. Class patch.
They are not on screen for long and they are a little fuzzy but it was a
nice touch particularly when the character they represent is a very
positive character on the show (Alan Autry who played Bubba on "In the
Heat of the Night" TV show).
