You obviously need to get their attention first, before you can teach them
proper flag etiquette. One suggestion I have is get them involved with
your local VFW group. They are usually glad to help teach a group about
flag etiquette. You will grab the boys attention when they see a group of
men in full uniform towering over them and teaching them to show respect
for the flag. They really put on an impressive display, and it is
captivating no matter how many times you see it. It is much different for
a child to stand next to these men and be talked to than to just see them
walk by in a parade.
