This has been a problem for quite a while. The OA Handbook lists courts of
honor as one of the times when it is appropriate to wear the sash. Many of
us in the OA disagree. We feel that the sash should only be worn while
actually engaged in OA related activity and unless there is an OA theme or
portion to the court of honor, I would not have the Scouts wear the OA sash
at a court of honor. This would solve the problem.
Now, assuming you disagree with the above and agree with the OAHB what do
you do. It is definitely inappropriate to wear the OA sash on the belt, so
it must be worn over the right shoulder. I would not wear both sashes
simultaneously so that leaves wearing the mb sash on the belt or leaving it
off altogether. Since the mb sash is much more relevant to a court of
honor, imho, once again I would conclude that the OA sash gets left home.
