I agree with Timothy O'Leary. Scout Spirit is extremely important. A nice
I may use it for a Scoutmaster's Minute.
I see it as an ongoing effort to stress these ideals by Scouters and Scouts
alike tied into the Oath and Law through out a Scout's activities and
I also agree with Tim in that the BOR should be used not to retest but to
measure these ideals and judge whether or not the Scout is being helped.
If the Scout is turned back for some reason it should be done in a positive
way - losing the Scout is really not a solution.
Strange to say though, our troop has encountered the problem and no Scout
has quit. I spoke with the father last night of one and the Scout will be
going to see a counselor in part because of the comments from the Troop.
He wants to be elected to OA and be elected to SPL.
Not one shred of evidence exists in favor of the idea that life is serious.
