Carey, I'm not certain about previous versions of the requirements, but
the current requirements state: "Be in your troop and patrol for at
least 6 months as a Life Scout." There is no mention of which 6 month
I was recently involved in a case where a scout was turned down by his
troop committee and scoutmaster for this very reason. They did not
feel that he had been active enough in the most recent 6 month period.
He appealled the decision to the Council Advancement Committee, who
ruled that he should have a Board of Review. After the Board of Review
passed him, the troop committee wrote letters to National protesting
the decision. National supported the awarding of the Eagle. The Court
of Honor will be held at the end of this month.
