I ask the boys to use a patch from the BSA supplied list, the name that
goes with it is up to them (with SM approval). I've never had to
disapprove any yet.
Ours are pretty bland at present.
Huskie Patrol Huskie Patch
Viper Patrol Rattlesnake patch
Moose Patrol Moose patch
Cruiser Patrol Panther Patch (don't know why)
Scorpion Patrol Scorpion Patch
Lost Boys Patrol Blank Patch
Dragon Patrol Dragon Patch
Wolverine Patrol Wolverine patch
One of my favorite patrols of the recent past was the Assateague Patrol.
All the boys were on a trips a few years back where they camped at
Assateague Island National Seashore. A huge storm blew in from sea and
they had to evacuate the campsite and head to the mainland amid high
winds, clapping thunder, lightening flashes, and blinding rain. When they
returned the next morning, they had to "peel" their downed tents off the
beach. After that experience they named themselves the Assateague Patrol
and used the patch with a lightening bolt on it.
