I assume that you have been a UC before being appointed an
ADC. The first thing to do is to shift your focus. You are now
a manager and it is your job to help others, your UCs, to do
their job. The RT is a good place to get to know them and to
show that you are a source of advice and help.
However, you do have a job right now - to see that the UCs
come to RT and that they have contacted their units and arranged
for them to attend. Then you need to see if there are uncovered
units, or weak or overloaded UCs. Your aim should be to ensure
that all units are being properly served.
From my point of view, my best ADCs are those who cover all
this and then call me to tell me "the good news" - that all is
well with their UCs and their units.
Finally, don't forget that it is the youth you are serving,
not the organization.
