While there may be some merit to emphasising Patrol activities, this
should not mean having only one Troop night a month. I think I would
work very hard to prevent that happening, were I in your position. If
that doesn't work, you will be better off moving to another Troop, since
you will not be comfortable working in this situation.
I feel strongly that there is a need for the Troop to meet at least
three times a month - you could leave the fourth Troop night for Patrol
Night, but you would need at least two adults for each Patrol if you
were to be providing adult leadership - which is often necessary,
especially for newer Scouts.
At a baqre minimum, this needs to be a decision of the Troop Leadership
Council - with the decision made by the junior Leaders.
Somehow, I do not think I would be comfortable working with a Leader who
promised such radical change without consulting the youth membership or
