In my own mind, there is something wrong with the programme of a Troop
that is not set up to accomodate the recently "retired" SPL a the end
of his tenure.
If there is going to be a problem resulting from his being placed back
into a Patrol, then there are other junior leadership positions that he
can fill outside the Patrol structure without doing harm to the overall
Troop structure or the former SPL's ego.
